I have been in the shipping industry for almost 35 years. Being a shipping agent has been a wonderful ride for me, but being able to establish our very own shipping agency has been an absolute blessing.
I still remember back in those days when I was still working as a runner/boarding officer. I worked day in, day out to provide for my family, but I always asked myself, “How can I establish a foundation for my own and at the same time provide the absolute best service for my clients?” From that day onwards, I worked hard to learn everything I could about the shipping industry. I had sleepless nights, but everything paid off for me. For me, it is not just about satisfying my clients; I want to make sure that the personnel that work for me can be well taken care of. I have seen this company grow from nothing to one of the best.
Most importantly, I have to thank my business partner, Mdm. Siti Khatijah, for always standing strong and being an important pillar in the growth of HAAS. She has been a good friend of mine for the past 30 years. When I proposed the idea of forming this shipping agency, she accepted it with a full heart. Together with Mdm. Siti Khatijah and the personnel working here, we will grow to even greater heights.
I have been in the shipping industry for 25 years, specifically working with the Marine Department of Malaysia. Working in the marine department has been an exceptional experience for me. Throughout my time there, I got to expand my knowledge of the shipping industry and, furthermore, I managed to establish a lot of contacts there. Even better than that, I managed to meet my business partner while working in the marine department.
Mr. Abu Hassan and I have been good friends for the past 30 years. During my time in the marine department, I have always wondered, “How can I share the knowledge that I have gained with people alike?” When my partner, Mr. Abu Hassan, proposed the idea of forming a shipping agency together, I accepted and trusted him with my whole heart. During my period here at HAAS, I have seen this company grow to exceptional heights, and it is a wonderful sight to see. For me, it has been not only satisfying my clients but also taking care of the personnel that work within this company. In my eyes, this is not just a company but a family. Most importantly, I really have to thank Mr. Abu Hassan for always guarding my back and being a strong pillar of this company. Together with Mr. Abu Hassan and the personnel that work here, we will grow to even greater heights.
HAAS MARITIME SDN BHD was incorporated on December 3rd, 2012 by Mr Abu Hassan and Mdm Siti Khatijah. Since its inception, the company has grown by leaps and bounds and rapidly developed itself as one of the most active shipping companies involved in various shipping business activities in Malaysia.
